Natasha has been researching Near Death Experiences (NDEs) for the past 15 years. She has written extensively about them and had the privilege of speaking to hundreds of people who have had these experiences. She has since extended her research interests to encompass other extraordinary experiences of consciousness, many of which are described as ‘spiritual’ by those who have them. She is currently an Associate Professor of Psychology at Massey University and Director of the Centre for Indigenous Psychologies, where she teaches in the area of Indigenous Psychologies and the interplay with spirituality. She continues to research and write about NDEs, as well as provide presentations both nationally and internationally.

On this week’s episode of More Than Your Mind, Raphael speaks with the talented Hady Beydoun, where they navigate the intricate world of tattoo culture, discussing the history, artistry, personal stories, and societal perceptions surrounding tattoos, challenging the stereotypes and shedding light on the evolving significance of this ancient form of self-expression.

Hady Beydoun (Lebanon, b.1974) is an eclectic artist with skills spanning painting, sculpting, tattooing, and photography. A graduate from the American University of Beirut’s Graphic Design program in 1996. Hady’s creativity had touched multiple artistic spheres, leading him to open his studio in Jal el Dib, Lebanon.

Primarily recognized for his innovative sculptures Hady’s distinct style skillfully balances the dichotomy of life’s harshness and softness. His sculptures often loaded with provocative metaphors, serve as intriguing ‘wake up calls’. Even though Hady introduced tattooing as an artform in the Middle East (1995), it is his sculptures that truly capture his philosophy of illustrating abstract ideas with form and color.

His diverse body of work has been displayed at renowned galleries across Beirut and Lebanon. Moreover, his art has crossed borders reaching the US, Europe, Africa, and the UAE.

His work has been published in numerous local and regional art related and home design magazines.

Hady is currently working on opening his private showroom to display his very diverse body of work.
