Fran Brown appears to be targeting a linebacker and a safety to replace Marlowe Wax and Alijah Clark, and could also be moving Devin Grant to cornerback. The Cuse is also potentially still in on offensive tackle Rahtrel Perry. Syracuse is also awaiting word from the NCAA and Kyle McCord about a possible 5th year, but don't expect the Orange to try for Georgia's Carson Beck if McCord goes to the NFL. Syracuse Orange Basketball beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 62-55 inside the JMA Wireless Dome for the Orange's first power-five conference win of the season. Syracuse won the game despite not having star freshman Donnie Freeman, who's not expected to be out long, per Adrian Autry. JJ Starling finished with a game high 21 points and Eddie Lampkin had a double-double for Syracuse.

Syracuse Orange Football Head Coach Fran Brown provided an update regarding the status of quarterback Kyle McCord. Coach Brown said yesterday that he thinks the NCAA will come to its decision on whether or not to grant McCord another year of eligibility this week. If McCord gets the approval from the NCAA, he'll get the choice to return to Syracuse or remain in the 2025 NFL Draft. If the appeal is denied, that'll most likely mean the end of McCord in Syracuse.

Syracuse Orange Football has made several additions in the transfer portal this offseason like Rickie Collins and Naquil Betrand, but Fran Brown's squad still has holes to fill. Syracuse could use a starting cornerback, and appear to be targeting FCS All-American Sascha Garcia. The Cuse also needs an inside linebacker. Next, the orange need clarity on their defensive line and offensive line. DL Owen Wafle from Michigan Wolverines could be a nice addition in the portal. Finally, Syracuse is set in most position groups on offense, even with the departures of LeQuint Allen, Jackson Meeks, and Oronde Gadsden.

Syracuse Orange Football is long three key skill position players on offense to the 2025 NFL Draft: LeQuint Allen, Jackson Meeks, and Oronde Gadsden. However, Fran Brown's squad has quality reserves waiting for the opportunity to start. Yasin Willis and Will Nixon could work as a tandem to replace Allen's production at running back. Wide Receiver Darrell Gill improved significantly from 2023 to 2024, and could be a focal point of Jeff Nixon's offense next season. 2024 four-star tight-end Jamie Tremble could become a high quality replacement given his profile.
