  • City hosts second annual weapons exchange
    Nov 22 2024

This week On The Record with Randy Beamer, we talk with District 9 Councilman John Courage about this weekend’s Weapon’s Exchange Program, where people can turn in a gun and receive an H-E-B gift card.

Then, Randy visits with Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, who discusses his new plan to keep ill people from being admitted to the country jail until they have been approved by a medical professional. The plan is controversial, as police say they need to be able to drop off people at the jail and get back out on the street.

On Reporter’s Roundtable, Iris Dimmick, Senior Reporter for the SA Report, discusses her article on the new taxpayer-funded apartments downtown that are partly short-term rentals. Why Opportunity Home, the agency that funded the complex, says this Airbnb is a good approach.
