But here's the deal, historical record only covers so much of the story; so McGraw filled in the gaps with what he thought summed up a humorous emperor's rise to power, then modernized the language so it doesn't read like a boring textbook. In short: He made it up. However, you would actually learn about history if you read his book, making historical fiction a very interesting category.
