Grant started his teacher-entrepreneur journey about 2 years ago when he joined the 21-Day Teacher-Entrepreneur Challenge in March 2020. Before that, Grant had spent months trying to launch his own teaching business but was struggling to find students, was making less than $2K/month, and was about ready to give up. With the support from James and his team, Grant made about $60K in 2020, $100K in 2021, and is on track to make over $150K in 2022. On top of that, Grant has recently launched his online course and is ready for more passive income generated from his business.

Daniel graduated from the 21-Day Challenge in December 2021 and got 15 students at about $850 USD in January 2022. It is not usual for teachers to get such massive results early in their journey. But Daniel made it happen.

Jordan recently increased his rate to $1200 per student and is getting students every week. But it wasn’t like this after he graduated from the 21-Day Challenge in April 2021 a year ago. He struggled a lot at first and didn't get the results he expected. But he didn't quit or compare himself with others. Instead, he worked on his mindset and concentrated on the transformation from teacher to teacher-entrepreneur. "I need to shift my mindset so I can succeed in my teaching business," Jordan said.

Can I do niche teaching if I don’t know anything about my niche? Yes, you can. Tara had the same concern after she graduated from the 21-Day Teacher-Entrepreneur Challenge in March 2020 when she decided to switch from IELTS to lawyers. The reason she picked lawyers as her niche was because she taught 2 lawyers general English on Preply. She had a lot of fun working with her lawyer students and she knew there could be more business potential in lawyers than in IELTS. However, she didn’t know anything about lawyers. Just like many of you, she had doubts and concerns. She thought about quitting and going back to her comfort zone, teaching IELTS. But she didn’t. She pushed herself through it, taught over 50 lawyer clients, and increased her hourly rate to $120.

At first, Lii struggled when she started her teaching business because she tried to be a different person. To make her business work, Lii thought She would have to do everything others were doing. She was not supposed to change anything from what she was taught. She had to become a different Lii to please her potential students. Unfortunately, by trying to change who she was, she didn’t make a lot of progress in her business or even enjoy her business much at all. But things started to change when she began to discover her own voice. Now she is able to get more students every month, increase her price and, most importantly, enjoy her business because she realized that She doesn’t have to do everything. She only needs to find what works for her. She should focus on understanding the principles and then adapt them to fit her. She has to be herself and only needs to work with students who appreciate the authentic Lii.

Rachel just returned from her first business trip since starting her business 2 years ago. She managed to get on stage and deliver a presentation to over 150 international doctors working in the UK. It looks great, but only Rachel knows how much blood, sweat and tears it took her to get where she is today. Since the beginning of 2020 she has worked so hard every day and has gone through the process of defining her teaching niche, getting her first 1-on-1 client, and launching her first group course, to selling her first digital course with ads, launching her own phone APP, and starting corporate training. There have been so many ups and downs, failures and wins. But Rachel has never been satisfied with just getting a few students, charging one thousand pounds per student, or making a few thousand pounds a month. She has been focusing on building and scaling her business so she can be a real owner of the business, not a slave to anyone.

Hannah has been a traditional ESL teacher for 12 years with DELTA and CELTA under her belt. She used to work for language schools but decided to go independent in Feb 2021.

She learned from the 21-Day Challenge that she had to use social media to get students… But had she never used social media for marketing, and she struggled big time with posting online. She literally sat in front of her computer for hours just to come up with 1 post. She almost gave up on her business after the first few months.

Luckily, after 1 year and a half, Hannah has not only increased her rate to $100 an hour but also developed her own system to generate post ideas and found her own voice in posting.

Polly's teacher-entrepreneur journey started in August 2020 after she graduated from the 21-Day Teacher-Entrepreneur Challenge and joined the Inner Circle exactly 2 years ago. The journey has been full of ups and downs. She got some students fairly quickly right after the Challenge but had a hard time being consistent.
