Their goal is to take the gun out of the hand of a would-be perpetrator and replace it with a hammer and marketable construction trade skills. In 1993 when Dennis Muhammed began the work to train rival gang members in the construction and building management trades, he gained the moral and humanitarian support of Boxing Champ Muhammad Ali. The Champ helped Mr. Muhammed advocate for employment and training for public housing residents and others for 10 years.
