As we follow the second week of the State of Arizona v. James Layton Givens, the author provides some further background on the case and the people involved. In the courtroom, the prosecution continue to present their argument with witnesses who attempted to render aid to Emma Givens, investigated the Givens home, and examined the older three Givens children following Emma's death. Finally, the state presented the girls' foster mother, who later adopted them.

Givens stands accused of murdering his nearly 23-month-old daughter Emma, as well as felony child abuse of Emma and her three older children.
