  • Podcast: Reenergize Your Workplace With Workplace Chaplains
    Jan 8 2025

Employee disengagement is at an all-time high—both at work and at home. Post-COVID, many individuals continue to struggle with isolation, even in a world that no longer requires physical separation. As Christ-followers, we understand that true flourishing happens through connection and community; indeed, iron sharpens iron.

It’s time to break the cycle. Together, we can encourage employees to reengage in their workplaces, homes, and communities. Enter Kristoffer Popovitch, whose passion for workplace chaplaincy offers a pathway to overcoming isolation and fostering thriving environments.

In this episode, Mark and Kristoffer explore strategies to reenergize workplaces by focusing on three transformative areas:

    1. Building a Positive Culture Workplace chaplains demonstrate that employees matter beyond their productivity. This creates an atmosphere where people feel valued and cared for.
    2. Prioritizing Employee Mental Health With mental health reaching crisis levels nationwide, chaplain services provide much-needed support, addressing emotional and spiritual well-being.
    3. Creating Ripple Effects Through Faith When employees come to know the Lord, the impact extends beyond the workplace—transforming families, coworkers, and entire communities. It’s a win-win for everyone.

Kristoffer Popovitch is the Vice President of Operations at Rissinger Resource Group and a dedicated workplace chaplain. With over 33 years of clinical healthcare experience, including 23 years in executive hospital leadership, Kris brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. An ordained minister and lead pastor, Kris also serves on the boards of Knox Theological Seminary and Love Inc. He is a proud husband and father of two adult children who recently married.

Join us as we delve into this meaningful conversation about the power of workplace chaplaincy and its potential to transform lives.

  • Overcoming Relational Poverty in Your Workplace
    Dec 4 2024

More than ever, workers are disengaging from their jobs and their homes. Many people in the post-COVID world continue to live in seclusion, despite not feeling compelled to do so. After all, iron sharpens iron, and Christians know we need each other's love to survive.

Let’s break the cycle and encourage our employees to get reengaged at work, home, and in their communities. Meet Eric Bents. Through workplace engagement, Eric believes we can help people overcome isolation.

Join Mark and Eric as they discuss overcoming relational poverty in your workplace, focusing on three (3) key areas:

    • Get employees to focus outward (volunteer, mission work).
    • Organize events that will win the affection of your employees' families.
    • Create career development programs that bless your people.

Eric is committed to ending relational poverty. As a strategy coach and leadership development expert, Eric assists individuals and organizations in resolving their most pressing issues.

Eric is a great American. During his 30 years in the United States Air Force (20 years active, 10 reserve), Eric deployed to Afghanistan and Bosnia, serving in a wide range of combat and non-combat capacities before retiring as a colonel. His duties covered almost every military mission area, including conventional combat support, nuclear, cyberspace, space, peacekeeping, counterinsurgency, and counterterrorism.

Through his non-profit The Storehouse Movement and his company Win Your Wars, Eric uses his hard-won knowledge of military tactics and strategy in his role as Storehouse Movement leader to offer a framework for anybody to address their most difficult personal, professional, or social issues.

When Eric isn't "warring to win," he enjoys spending time with his wife, Marnie, five [largely] grown children, and one grandson. He also enjoys hunting and being outside.

  • Navigating Politics at Work, Church, or in the Community
    Oct 30 2024

Over the past several months, many of our clients have brought up questions about speaking about politics at work. Being a Christian in the workplace can be very difficult. Many religious exempt employers are terrified to even consider bringing a message from the pulpit. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

We are in tumultuous times when Christians can't even speak to each other regarding certain topics. We miss incredible opportunities to love each other and learn from each other when we don't speak opening with each other regarding our views. But, what if we were all comfortable with our political views and could speak openly?

Meet Pastor Joel L. Rissinger. He believes we have an obligation to speak openly with one another in every aspect of our walks with the Lord, especially politics. Pastor Joel L. Rissinger and his wife Karen have been married for almost 40 years and have two adult children, a marvelous son-in-law, two foster grandsons, and two gorgeous granddaughters.

Pastor Joel is a shepherd as part of Standing Stone Ministry (www.standingstoneministry.org) and an interim pastor with IPM (www.interimpastors.org).

He is co-founding Pastor Emeritus of LifeWay Church in Newington, Connecticut, and he has been in full-time ministry since 1992. In this capacity, he has led several congregations through major transitions prior to planting.

He and his wife Karen, a school psychologist, have helped hundreds of couples through counseling, their popular “Marriage Timeout” retreats, Iron Sharpens Iron Seminars, and other public ministry.

Tune in and listen as Mark and Pastor Joel give you encouragement for work!

  • How HR Can Help Employees Save Their Marriages and Your Organization’s Productivity
    Aug 20 2024

Employers lose a lot of productivity from employees who are struggling in their marriages or going through a divorce. The Marriage Hub can help you support your employees who are struggling with their marriages. This is a benefit to them, their children, and to you as the leader of your organization.

Meet Dr. Bruce R. McCracken. Bruce has been leading the Marriage Hub for over 17 years. Bruce has been focused on doing marriage intensives for over 10 years, helping couples save their marriages from the devastation of divorce. The Marriage Hub has an 85% success rate. Meaning that their couples are still married a year after their intensive.

To get the word out about the program and to help others, the Marriage Hub has worked with a number of business owners who were interested in awarding scholarships to employees to help prevent marriages from falling apart. This has started a focused outreach to business owners to help their employees save their marriages. But the Marriage Hub is not just for businesses; they serve all sectors, including churches, ministries, and colleges.

Join host Mark Griffin as he interviews Bruce regarding the great news for 2024! The Marriage Hub is expanding their ministry to two new locations this year: Phoenix, AZ, and Charlotte, NC, due to the increasing demand for intensives. There’re also reinstating marriage enrichment events with a monthly date night for couples in the Lancaster Pennsylvania area and two enrichment retreats for couples in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, as well.

  • Compassionate Reduction In Force & Layoffs, They Can Be Done Audio.mp3
    Aug 7 2024

Downsizing can be daunting, to say the least. Many of us have been let go ourselves over the course of our working lives. But even if we haven’t, we understand the obvious that it’s not a desirable experience.

When the economy turns though, almost every industry gets hurt. In which case, these trying times have had an impact on a wide range of organizations – and will no doubt continue to do so from here. So, sometimes, letting workers go is a necessity.

Yet, believe it or not, there are Bible-based ways to handle such situations, designed to make it easier for everyone involved. Meet Karmae Fahr, who says she’s seen it all… including downsizing done incorrectly. As she tells Mark, however, employers can learn how to:

    1. Plan for notification day
    2. Have a strategy in place for employee engagement afterward
    3. Compile services for exiting employees to utilize.

Karmae is an executive search and recruitment expert, business consultant, entrepreneur, executive coach, trainer, and mentor with 30+ years’ experience. As principal executive of The Fahr Group (TFG) since founding it in 2007, she brings depth and breadth to organizations by successfully selecting candidates for positions from vice president through the C-suite.

  • Podcast: Building Cultures of Wellness – at Work and Home
    Jul 29 2024

What does the word “healthy” mean to you?

We all have our own opinions of health and wellness based on our own unique experiences. Yet it’s essential to have a unified understanding in any workplace that creates a specific culture of wellness.

This isn't supposed to be a token effort or Band-Aid treatment. Christ-centered wellness – living fully the way God intended – must become our new employment and employer norm: one that is so effective, it follows workers from the office to the home.

    And yes, that is possible.

Meet Dr. April Jones, a healthcare leader with over 20 years of experience in optimizing and creating innovative processes. As CEO and founder of Storehouse Wellness, she champions a holistic, faith-based approach to health.

Dr. Jones spent years in traditional healthcare, where she helped people find the right medications to manage their disease symptoms, created pathways for easier and safer medical journeys, and helped to remove barriers to accessing necessary medication and proper education about these drugs. That’s how she came to realize the stark truth that providers don’t focus nearly enough on…

How to be well without medical intervention.

She now leads a premier, integrated, Christ-centered comprehensive wellness solution that removes fragmentation from well-being efforts. Dr. Jones’ program has four pillars at its core: nourishment, physical fitness, mental wellness/stress management, and financial health. It seeks to transform mindsets and strengthen internal motivation through a biblical perspective and focus on spiritual relationship.

Dr. Jones’ firm offers wellness navigation for accountability support and resource coordination, as well as 24/7 chaplaincy.

An accomplished consultant, board member, mentor, and coach, she blends hands-on healthcare experience with strategic business acumen. Dr. Jones also authored "No Mess, No Message," a Christian motivational book on overcoming adversity; founded The Drifted Drum Co., a faith-based publishing and events company; and is a sought-after speaker. She holds degrees from Union University, University of Tennessee, University of Memphis, and Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.
