    Nov 11 2024

If losing her eldest daughter in 2014 wasn’t enough, Sophia Perera was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2020.

In this episode you’ll hear Sophia talk about how she’s not the same person she was before losing daughter Valentina. Loss changes everything about you, she says. “Losing a child is the single most devastating trauma a person can ever go through in their life.”

She bravely shares her story and how, somehow through it all, she remains positive “My biggest thing is never give up hope and never resign yourself to a diagnosis or outcome because we all have the power within us to change our outlook.”

I was so grateful that Sophia took time to share her story with me, it is one woven with incredible moments of insight and joy.

There is something that everyone can take away from it.

The mum-of-two also talks about how she stays positive and keeps her cup full when her life is surrounded by death.
