For our inaugural episode, longtime New Orleanian and poet, Brad Richard, joined me in the studio to perform and discuss some poems from his new book, Turned Earth, forthcoming from LSU Press in early 2025.

Brad Richard is the author of five collections of poetry, including Turned Earth, forthcoming from Louisiana State University press in February 2025. He is on the editorial team of The Word Works, is a faculty member of the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop for Teachers, and is currently a visiting assistant professor at Tulane University. He lives, writes, and gardens in New Orleans. He loves people, native plants, and pollinators, sometimes in that order. More at bradrichard.org.
