Welcome to the LLF Speaks Podcast, brought to you by the Language and Learning Foundation (LLF). Established in 2015, LLF is a system-focused and impact-driven organization working at scale towards improving the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) outcomes of children in early grades in India. We believe that mastering foundational skills are the gateway to all future learning. Without these essential skills, children struggle to keep up as school texts become more dense and abstract in higher grades.

Our mission is to empower teachers, teacher educators, and stakeholders with professional development opportunities to strengthen early literacy and numeracy skills among young learners. Our vision is that all children will have strong foundational skills and abilities of language, literacy and numeracy, thinking and reasoning in their home and additional languages. Based on this strong foundation, all children will learn and grow to their full potential.

By 2027, we aim to influence the classroom practices of 1.6 Million teachers and teacher educators in collaboration with state governments across 50 districts in 10 states in 8 different regional languages. This initiative will potentially improve the learning outcomes of 35 million children, representing almost half of all children in grades 1-3 in government schools who are at risk of not developing foundational skills.
