*Jaqueline:* Welcome to English Friends Pro, where we dive into the real experiences of students during the pandemic and their return to school. I'm your host, [jaqueline], and today, we have a special episode featuring the stories with my friend Geovanny.
*Geovanny (G):* Hey, everyone!
*Jaqueline (J):* Hi, guys, we want to share our unique perspectives on what it was like when the world shifted to online learning and their journey back to the classroom.
*[Music]*
*Segment 1: How was it when we were stuck inside our houses?*
*Geovanny:* It was three years ago when most of us were forced to stay in our houses, all caused by a dangerous disease that extended worldwide and is still present to this day. Yes, as you may have heard of the title, we are talking about Coronavirus also formerly known as Covid-19.
*Geovanny:* Jaqueline! Do you remember when we were stuck inside our houses?
*Jaqueline:* To me it was the most scary moment in my life
*Geov
anny:* Yes, every day seemed the same. Online classes, not being able to hang out with friends, missing our teachers...
*Jaqueline:* Yes, I missed our teachers. I never thought I'd say that.
*Geovanny:* And it wasn't that all, not only do we miss our close friends but also be worried about our close family.
*Jaqueline:* The only thing that I was worried about my family was catching the disease and it is because I was one of the "lucky" ones that didn't catch it.
*Geovanny:* I wasn't all that afraid but I was afraid of us too, going to school with the virus…
I realized that school was more than just classes. I missed the school environment, our classmates, and the extracurricular activities. Plus, the daily routine disappeared. I didn't have fixed schedules, and it affected my discipline.
*Jaqueline:* I felt lost without a structure too. But at the same time, I learned to be more independent in the hardest way possible.
*Geovanny:* Yes, and even though I missed my friends, we stayed connected virtually.
*Jaqueline:* Video calls became part of our life!, and the only way was to speak with anyone outside.
*Geovanny:* And do you remember the excitement when they announced that we could return to school?
*Jaqueline:* It was like they announced a surprise holiday! I was excited, but also a bit nervous.
*Geovanny:* I was nervous too. I had changed so much during the time we were at home. I was worried about not being able to adapt to school again. But guess what?
*Jaqueline:* What?
*Geovanny:* At the end, we got back to normal. People at school were understanding, and the adjustment was easier than I thought.
*Jaqueline:* Yes, and we appreciated being here even more, I miss everyone even though I didn't actually meet them in person.
*Geovanny:* The time at home made us realize how much we value school and our friends.
*Jaqueline:* And I hope we never have to be stuck at home like that again, thanks to modern medicine.
*Geovanny:* Me too. But at least, we learned to face challenges together.

*Segment 2: How was school during the pandemic?*
*Geovanny:* During lockdown we weren't able to attend school so classes had to be given through video calls, one popular app they used was zoom and as for activities either were sent in email or in another app, the most common being classroom but in our case was Eva and we still used it, just not as much.
*Geovanny:* Hey, Jaqueline, remember when school went all virtual during the pandemic?
