Fresh, authentic, gentle and charming

This is such a lovely, fresh, authentic, gentle voice. The most amateur and lovely podcast I’ve heard. I’m tired of the upbeat bouncy podcasts. I just want podcasts to be more like this one: calm and gentle. Intelligent, thoughtful, interesting and KIND. Well done to Gretel.

Fast becoming a daily meditation

Gretel’s openness and vulnerability as she navigates the profound experience of her mother’s impending loss is deeply moving and humbling. This is beautifully counterbalanced by moments of lightness, humour, and her quiet walks through the countryside, where her observations of the world add a rich, reflective quality. Her nightly readings from Bede, Baedeker, and others add another layer, making this a captivating listening experience. What initially appears to be a simple podcast quickly reveals itself as a deeply nuanced and thoughtful meditation—one that is fast becoming an essential part of my daily routine.
