It can be a tendency even of God's people to be complainers. Because murmuring and complaining are so common in our self-indulgent society, we tend to think it's not that big of a deal, but it's a serious matter with God.

How many funeral services have you attended in your life? Death is an enemy and it has hurt every one of us. Some of us it has hurt deeply.

There is a chapter in the Bible that is, in a sense, devoted to the vivid reality of death and that is Genesis chapter 5.

The antediluvian period is the time period chronicled in the Bible between the fall of man in Genesis 3 and the Genesis flood narrative that begins in chapter 6. We aren’t told a great deal about life in the antediluvian world but what we are told is fascinating.

Death is universal and the pain of death is universal. Romans 5:12 says, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all...”

All the deaths we see are the results of sin's devastating rule over mankind.

Today, we live in a cursed creation that has earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, monsoons, tsunamis, tidal waves, deadly creatures and deadly diseases.

So much was lost when Adam and Eve sinned, and it won’t be fully reversed until we get to the new heaven and the new earth, which is described in Revelation 21:4.

One of the lies that has lead to incalculable damage in the lives of people down through the centuries is the lie that says “It’s no big deal if I do this one time.”

But there are always consequences.

Living life on this planet can often result in some very painful experiences. When Adam and Eve chose to sin, it changed everything forever, and we would've made the same choice if we were there.

Marriage is under attack in our nation today. The list of factors that are causing marriage and the family to be obliterated is a long one, and all of it goes back to a godless philosophy that permeates the thinking of our nation in regard to marriage... even among Christians. It is imperative to get the Creator's viewpoint on the subject if we are going to have the kind of marriages God intended.
