But on February 19, 1994, everything changed when Gloria was rushed to Riverside General Hospital, gravely ill. She had recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer and it was spreading to other parts of her body.

After her death, several emergency room staff members who treated her fell violently ill, seemingly due to exposure to her body and blood, sparking fear and confusion.

Dubbed “The Toxic Lady,” Gloria’s case has puzzled investigators for decades. Various theories have emerged to explain the strange reactions.
