The Georgia National Rodeo consists of competitions in seven categories:

Saddle Bronc Riding is Rodeo's "classic" event with the rider working to time their spurring action with the animal's bucking.

During Bareback Riding, competitors ride without the aid of rein or saddle and, using only a one hand grip, attempt to stay on the horse.

In Tie-Down Roping, the rider works to lasso the calf from horseback by throwing a loop of rope around the calf's neck and Team Roping consists of two people competing together to catch a steer for time.

With a single hand grip, Bull Riding competitors fight to stay on the bull for at least eight seconds while the bull spins and bucks.

Steer Wrestling, pictured below, involves calculatedly wrangling a steer to the ground from horseback.

In Barrel Racing, the horse and rider work together to follow a pattern with barrel turns, competing for the fastest time.
