  • 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 teaches about the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. Part one teaches on the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, and discerning spirit. Part two teaches about the gift of faith, the working of miracles, and the gift of healing. Finally, part three teaches prophecy, different kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues. Today, we will go into more depth on the last three gifts.
    Prophecy tells about the future or the present. The simple gift of prophecy is used to edify, exhort, and comfort—to edify the body of Christ. Prophecy is not a prediction. A prophet is doing the work of the ministry. The Office of the Prophet is different from the gift of prophecy, it is a specific role than just a gift. a prophet is ordained by God. A prophet who stands in the "Office of the Prophet"
    brings revelation, and he reveals future things. Gift of tongues might not be understood by the hearer or the speaker, therefore it is necessary to have someone who can interpret.
