Future Filipina

By: Kristine Ajami and Katherine Leroux
  • Summary

  • Kristine and Katherine are two sisters here to share their experiences as Canadian born Filipinas. They often have real, authentic conversations about life and what they go through with each other, so they decided to bring their conversations to this podcast in hopes of making a difference with others in the same shoes. They talk about the good, the bad and the ugly in most of life's topics like family, career and we'll-being. We hope this could make a difference for anyone who is trying to make their mark in this world.

  • Episode 3 / Opinionated Titas, Self-Love & Our Body Image
    Jun 25 2022

This episode was a meaningful (and fun!) one to record - all about our self image and eating issues growing up in a Filipino household and how that's impacted us over time. Unrealistic and unhealthy body ideals imposed on young Filipina girls have the potential to cause years and years of unhealthy habits and issues and its up to each of us to transform the conversation so that our children and coming generations don't have to endure and face what we did growing up.

This is definitely an ongoing conversation my sister and I have often, and I'm glad we have a platform to be able to share this with other women and young girls who can relate.
