Welcome to episode 4 of the Overcoming Trauma Video Series! This series is grant funded by Recover Alaska and together we are bringing you stories from local Alaskans who have overcome trauma and are here to share their hope, courage, and resiliency.

Today's guest is Wes Brewington. Wes became familiar with gang activity and incarceration at an early age and struggled with substance misuse for 14 years. He graduated from a long-term treatment facility in 2014, and successfully completed State Probation in 2016. Wesley has been working in the field of Substance misuse as a Peer Support Specialist for over 5 years now. He continues to be involved in the community, advocating for those who are struggling. Pursuing his passion for helping others, Wesley provides hope, that we can overcome and become productive members of society.
