Friday Family Film Night: HOME ALONE review

  • Summary

  • In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing HOME ALONE (1990), from director Chris Columbus with a screenplay by John Hughes. After a mistake by his family, a young boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) finds himself home alone for Christmas. While this is initially cause for celebration, he soon finds the holidays just are not the same without a family to share them with. He also hilariously brutalizes two bumbling thieves (excellently played by Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci) who are trying to burglarize his home. The film clocks in at 1 h and 43 m, is rated PG and is currently streaming on Disney+ and to buy/rent on Prime Video. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
