  • Disney v. DeSantis: The Board Strikes Back
    May 16 2023

The CFTOD Board filed its own civil lawsuit against Disney in Florida State Court. I'm breaking down the competing lawsuits.

In its Federal lawsuit, Disney asserts 5 causes of action--4 of which rely on the validity of the Development and Restrictive Use Contracts (the "Contracts") Disney entered into with the outgoing Reedy Creek Board.

The DeSantis Board filed its own lawsuit in Florida state court. DeSantis argues that the Contracts are invalid for procedural and substantive shortcomings.

I'm discussing each side's causes of action.

  • Disney v. DeSantis: Disney's Motion to Dismiss. The Attorneys. DeSantis wants a new judge.
    May 24 2023

Disney is asking the Florida State Court to Dismiss the CFTOD Board's lawsuit. I'm reviewing the motion in detail.

I'm also introducing you to the lawyers for Disney, the CFTOD Board, and DeSantis...and the judges. Better yet, I'm picking what celebrity might play them in a movie. Did I get it right?

Last, I'm reviewing DeSantis' motion in the Federal Court case asking the judge to recuse himself for perceived bias.

  • Defamed for Gay Surrogacy? Plus, why I started this project.
    May 31 2023

I'm introducing a new case: Vaughn v. Witzke. Eric Vaughn and his husband had twins via surrogacy in Texas. Vaughn posted about his experience to his social media. A far-right political activist in Delaware, Lauren Witzke, came across the video and had some things to say about it. The result was a lawsuit filed by Vaughn against Witzke in Texas state court for defamation.

I'm also sharing why I started this Follow That Case project.

  • The Trump Indictment. In Full.
    Jun 15 2023

I'm going through a copy of the entire Trump Indictment so you know what it says without being filtered through the lens of the news. Yes, it takes about an hour to read through the whole thing.

This is the full story spelled out by Jack Smith, the government attorney prosecuting Trump.

I will be sharing my thoughts and reaction in a follow up podcast.
