Women in Ministry in the Free Church. A History. Part 1.

  • Summary

  • Della Olson, First Lady of the Evangelical Free Church published her support for women and ministry. Ruth Kantzer, First Lady of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School heartily agreed! Dr. Joy Fleming reads from Della's book and adds her personal reminiscences.

Should women lead in ministry? YES! And here is documentation that they did so across Scandinavia and North America in recent times.

Dr. Joy Fleming reads from Della Olson's book, "A Woman of Her Times." The subtitle is, "Stories of women who dared to place obedience to the commands of Christ above submission to the traditions of men." She recounts the stories of women who were leaders in ministry in Scandinavia and around the world in the 1800's and 1900's even though some wanted to restrict them from ministry. Della Olson was an executive, an editor, and an author as well as mother and wife of Dr. Arnold T. Olson, President of the Evangelical Free Church of America.

The Tru316 Foundation (www.Tru316.com) is the home of The Eden Podcast with Bruce C. E. Fleming where we “true” the verse of Genesis 3:16. The Tru316 Message is that “God didn’t curse Eve (or Adam) or limit woman in any way.” Once Genesis 3:16 is made clear the other passages on women and men become clear too. You are encouraged to access the episodes of Seasons 1-11 of The Eden Podcast for teaching on the seven key passages on women and men. Are you a reader? We invite you to get from Amazon the four books by Bruce C. E. Fleming in The Eden Book Series (Tru316.com/trubooks). Would you like to support the work of the Tru316 Foundation?
