  • Keeping Travel On Your Calendar: Insights From a Travel Coach
    Jun 15 2023

In this episode of the Femme Noire Nomads Podcast, I interview Inez Chimhangariso, also known as International Inez, who is a life coach and travel coach. Inez shares her knowledge on how to move from just dreaming about traveling to always keeping a trip on our calendar.

We highlight the importance of taking getaways for self-care and rejuvenation. We discuss the fact that many women express a desire to travel but struggle to prioritize it in their busy lives. To address this, Inez has created a program that takes the planning and stress out of travel while also teaching participants how to integrate getaways into their lives in a natural and sustainable way. The program includes one-on-one coaching to help participants keep getaways on their calendars and prioritize self-care. Inez emphasizes that travel should be viewed as an investment in oneself rather than just an expense, as it can bring many positive returns on investment in terms of personal growth and rejuvenation. Additionally, we touch on the challenges of returning to daily life after a vacation and how to combat "vacation hangovers" by incorporating self-care practices into daily life.

Inez shares that she was diagnosed with cancer and decided to shift her entire lifestyle to heal herself naturally. She transitioned from a normal American diet to a fully organic vegan diet and paid close attention to her health. By the time she had her daughter, she was healed but also felt broken because she didn't know where her old self would fit in with her new identity as a mother, wife, and cancer survivor.

She emphasizes the importance of prioritizing self-care as a mom and setting a good example for children by taking care of oneself. She has created a getaway specifically for moms to help them prioritize themselves and exist in their roles as moms, wives, daughters, etc., at a high level. She believes that as long as the mom is good, their children will be great, and the transformation that these moms will have on the getaway will ripple throughout their families.

We also touch on the idea of investing in travel as a form of self-care, as it can bring significant returns on investment and provide valuable experiences.
