They discussed Buhle’s work undertaking pioneering collaborative research at the nexus of environmental justice, gender equality, ocean livelihoods, and inclusivity in ocean-related decision-making processes. Aphiwe and Milica (our podcast host) also discussed the new Learning Pathway they are creating for the One Ocean Learn platform, which focuses on the interlinkages of the ocean, culture and cultural heritage and explores the cultural values, history, heritage, and Indigenous and local knowledge systems related to the ocean.
