  • Our April episode of Sci Flicks sees Marissa looking at the 2011 film that proved to be well and truly ahead of its time, Contagion! She's not doing it alone though; she's joined by Professor Kim Usher, Member of the Order of Australia!

    Professor Kim Usher is Professor of Nursing in the School of Health and the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Mental Health Nursing. She has been published in over 300 peer-reviewed journals and has supervised over 40 PhD students to completion of their higher degree research; earning her a James Cook University Vice Chancellor's Award for Higher Degree Research Supervision in 2009. She was made a Member of the Order of Australia for her contribution to nursing and midwifery research in 2017 and in 2018 was listed in the top 10 nursing academics in Australia and New Zealand.

    Given her extensive contributions to the fields of nursing and health, we are very excited to have her onboard for Contagion and to have her speak about the health science present within the film!
