Episode 13 - Dr. Matthew Kenworthy and Alexander Bohn

  • Summary

  • This past July, the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope took the first ever image of a young, Sun-like star accompanied by two giant exoplanets. Until now, astronomers had never directly observed more than one planet orbiting a Sun like star. But what's so special about this, how was it accomplished, and does it reveal anything about our own Sun? Dr. Matthew Kenworthy and Alexander Bohn of Leiden Observatory tell us all about it.
