    Ronald Clark O'Bryan, often referred to as the "Candyman," was an American man infamous for his involvement in the death of his eight-year-old son, Timothy, in 1974. O'Bryan poisoned Halloween candy with cyanide, aiming to collect on life insurance policies. Timothy died after consuming the tainted candy, and O'Bryan's actions led to widespread panic over Halloween safety. He was arrested, tried, and convicted of murder in 1975, receiving a death sentence. He was executed in March of 1984, almost 10 years after his horrendous crime.
