Ep 14. Arora Akanksha on 'The UN, Women in Leadership & Taking Action'

  • Summary

  • Today on The Climb, Adrian & George are joined by Arora Akanksha.

Arora Akanksha believes that the United Nations needs a shake-up, and that’s why, as a 34-year-old, she is running for UN Secretary General.  Her critics point to her age and lack of diplomatic experience, two things Arora believes make her the perfect candidate for an organization that has lost its way.

Arora is an Indo-Canadian, a graduate of Toronto’s York University & New York’s Columbia University, and has been working at the UN since 2016.  Long enough to learn that, "We are not living up to our purpose or our promise.  We are failing those we are here to serve."

As Arora aims for the top job at the United Nations, she is blazing a new path.  She is the first millennial candidate.  The first candidate to challenge an incumbent.  The youngest candidate (at just 34) and if successful, Arora would be the first woman to ever hold the post.

Today we dig into her run at the UN, women in leadership and what it means to take action.
