Ep 113: Harry Colt’s Castlerock

  • Summary

  • This week we speak with Bert McKay, General Manger at Castlerock. It’s been one hundred and twenty one years since the formal inauguration of Castlerock. Harry Colt made it the links we play today, albeit more recently refreshed and updated by Martin Hawtree in 2017. A golf course played in the landscape not on the landscape, it is indeed a fine hallmark Colt design. Hollows, rises, banks, plateaus, pot bunkers and greens varying in sizes all contribute to an incredible links experience just twenty minutes from the Open hosting Royal Portrush.
