Elizabeth Boleyn with Sophie Bacchus-Waterman

  • Summary

  • This week I spoke to Sophie, who is researching and writing about Elizabeth Boleyn, the mother of the infamous Anne Boleyn.

Sophie earned a Master's in Book History from the School of Advanced Study in 2023. Her dissertation focused on the commission of the Psalter of Anne Boleyn. She has three papers on her research at the Taylorian Institution in Oxford, and at the 13th annual Kings and Queens conference in Paris, and appeared on the podcast, Talking Tudors. Outside of her work as an independent scholar, she is the Special Collections Photographer at St John's College in Oxford, where she digitizes their manuscripts and early printed books. Her forthcoming book, the first solo biography of Elizabeth Boleyn, is due out with The History Press at the end of next year.
