This session is another visit to my pantry to where I found some ingredients I purchased during lockdown. Some of them I haven't played since then, so I thought I'd mix us up an Electrik Cake for this modern day and with more pleasant connotations than the Pandemic. It is my second "Everything Cake - Multi Genre and loads of fun! There were so many goodies over on Traxsource, I could scarcely select within my budget! Be on the lookout for some choice slices from Mikki Afflick, Rachel Mc Donald, Angela Johnson (My favorite soprano) AND, somewhere in the mixture, you might here a little debut from myself and DaSoul! DO pay particular attention to our SLICE OF THE WEEK, and take a special listen to the Bruk N' Jazz preserves mixed up in there. I even loves one track so much, I played it TWICE!!

I have paid less attention to mixing in traditional consonance, opting instead for "friendly dissonance." My life has been fraught with friendly dissonance lately as God continues to stretch me and build me up into the best lady I can be - never without bumps and hiccups, right? Broken beat, by its very description is totally matching my life right now, matching up well with the calculated risks and serendipitous happenstances of Jazz. But I press on.

This week, I departed from my traditional Traxsource shipping spree and I actually perused some promotional material sent to the Electrik Cakery Inbox - and MAN I found some really interesting gems. A little bit of the softer side of house with a few nicely percussive goodies sprinkled in. There were some very nice vocal works like this week's SLICE OF THE WEEK by Different Stage & Burlington and some fun remakes by Sgt Slick and DJ Prophet & Company.
