As a school leader, you're the expert of your school community, but during a crisis, you'll need to draw on supports from other agencies and education departments.In this episode, we look at the bigger systems picture behind a school's disaster response and hear from some of the experts who lead the departments that can offer you critical support during these challenging times.

Students and children can offer such valuable contributions in the context of disasters, if we only take the time to ask them. In this episode, we'll hear the experiences of children in disasters, in their own words, and get a better understanding of how we can best support them, and what they need from their school community before, during, and after a disaster.

We can learn a lot with the benefit of hindsight. 

It's hard to do everything perfectly on a normal day, let alone in the midst of an intense event like a disaster. When we look back, it's common to see ways it could have been done differently. 

In this episode you'll hear from education leaders who've been through it themselves, and share reflections on what they wished they knew before their communities experienced a disaster,  and what they learnt from having gone through it.
