Raina believes that the Maritime Industry is a wonderful industry that is oftentimes forgotten by the general masses. Raina is now working to enlighten people on what it is like to have a career that is not “within the box”. With over a decade of experience in the Maritime Industry, Raina has served in many capacities not only onboard vessels of the United States Merchant Marine Fleet but within academia and the tourism sector of the industry as well. In 2021, Raina founded R.J. Barnes Consulting to aid professionals in their various application processes including Merchant Mariner Credentials, Transportation Worker Identification Credentials, College Applications, and Job Applications. In 2021 Raina received her United States Coast Guard License to be an Unlimited Master Upon Great Lakes and Inland Waters. Raina holds a Masters of Science in International Transportation Management and Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from SUNY Maritime College.
