  • Remembering Jack's mom Amy, his cousin Cramer and a friend who was like a brother, Casey
    Jul 20 2024
I recently sat down in my living room for a wholesome & humbling grief chat with Jack, a friend who’s lost three people who played significant roles in his life, his mom, Amy, a friend who was like a brother, Casey and his cousin Cramer. We talk about a whole lot, the role that music and art plays to help us process feelings and communicate stories, as well as the anger that’s brought up by being a victim and witness of addiction and finding the balance between remembering our lost loved ones as a whole person, rather than just their good or bad traits. Jack wears vulnerability with so much bravery and also happens to sing beautiful songs! If you like what you hear at the end of the episode make sure to follow @_your.jack_ and his band, @_thewaddlers_ on Instagram to be the first to hear of their new album, launching soon!

  • Remembering Allison's mum, Cyndi Bunge
    Jun 10 2024
In episode 4 I met with Allison! She’s a work colleague and friend who’s mom died of cancer 17 years ago. Allison’s known grief for a long time, but recently unfortunately experienced a miscarriage too, hello grief 2.0. We talk about the denial Allison faced in the years leading up to her mom’s death, feeling understandably angry around other pregnant women and appreciating the relationships with those who support us through all of life’s ups and downs.

  • Unpacking the discomfort of grief with mental health counsellor, Sharmon Reddington
    May 9 2024

Scared of death, or of loved ones dying? Us too! In this episode I spoke to Sharmon, a mental health counsellor and mom of two, who specializes in maternal wellness. Sharmon opens up about her own fears of death, provides insight into why grief is so uncomfortable for everyone involved and gives advice on how to manage our fears. I certainly had some ‘aha’ moments in this chat & I hope you do too.

You can find Sharmon @mum_well on Instagram for online therapy & perinatal mental health support.
