    There are many practices along the healing journey. Some are easier than others. There are some you may have a lot of resistance to. There may even be some that feel unnecessary or impossible.

    There is one that is the most significant and, unfortunately, can be the most challenging.

    You’ve likely heard me talk about it many times. It’s something that comes up over and over again in my individual work and in general conversations about healing.

    Connection is at the core of healing, but what does it really mean? If you’ve ever felt disconnected, even when surrounded by people, you’re not alone. That feeling often comes from a misconception of what true connection is.

    In this video, I’ll talk about the difference and explore why recognizing… and experiencing authentic connection is essential for your healing journey.

    Have you ever looked at others succeed or experience something meaningful and thought, “I wouldn’t want that” or something similar? Have you ever wondered why? What if this isn’t just a passing, meaningless thought?

    This overlooked reaction can actually be a trauma response, especially for childhood trauma survivors, It’s a way to shield ourselves from the risks of rejection, shame, or failure.

    In today’s video, I share insights into how this response reveals unfulfilled parts of us and the quiet grief of what we may have missed out on. By recognizing and addressing these feelings, we can begin to heal the core beliefs that hold us back and reclaim our ability to take risks and pursue what we truly desire.

    For many survivors of trauma, there can be a significant difference between being safe and actually feeling safe, the kind of ease that comes from feeling rooted in knowing you will be ok.

    That felt sense of safety can be so hard to find, and I know how overwhelming it can feel to even think about exploring and practicing safety.

    In this video, I’ll share a gentle affirmation practice that’s helped me and many others reconnect with the body and rediscover a sense of safety.

    This practice is about more than just calming the nervous system; it’s about reminding yourself that even if safety hasn’t always been your reality, it’s something you can find and hold onto now. Healing takes time, but this is one small, intentional step you can take toward feeling free and grounded in your body and life.
