Cosleeping & Biologically Normal Infant Sleep with Marcella DeRosa

  • Summary

  • In this episode, Certified Baby Led Sleep & Well Being Specialist expert Marcella DeRosa and I dive deep into the world of cosleeping and biologically normal infant sleep. We share our experiences as both mothers in our nighttime parenting journey, as well as Marcella’s efforts to help parents make informed decisions when it comes to their babies’ needs.

So much of the advice we are given with regards to infant sleep is based on outdated cultural beliefs rather than on the biological norms of the infant-mother relationship. Through this conversation we hope to contribute to a topic that is so foundational to our well-being, not only for infants and young children, but for the rest of one’s life. A responsive mother-infant relationship is crucial in setting up a child for true independence, self-love, and positive relationships with others. It all starts at infancy, with a baby’s brain constantly rewiring in response to a mother’s loving touch and response.

Take a listen for an insightful conversation on the beginning of the human experience - infancy - and how a caregiver’s response (or lack thereof based on conventional advice) can be critical in establishing a well-adjusted child and future adult.
