• Take Care Of The Root - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 1-30-25 #1470
    Jan 30 2025

Found another deep reflective post, this one from Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) where they shared this thought and it’s not just advice for trees. “Heal the root so the tree is stable.” We are the tree and we need to take care of our foundation so that our branches (and even any “fruit” we produce) which are the things we do and the people we connect with, can be their very best, all throughout our lives! Another positive reminder for me to keep working on things I know I need to do. Thanks for listening. • Show This Strength - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 1-29-25 #1469
    Jan 29 2025

I found a reminder that probably needs to get out there a bit more, for a few different reasons. This comes from Mind Essentials (@Mind_Essentials) reminds us that “Strong people don’t put others down … They lift them up.” Sad to say there are way too many examples all around us of people, many so called “leaders” that do the total opposite of this and think they are successful. It’s up to us to set the correct example in living our lives on a daily basis for sure. One key about this is how we treat ourselves too. So much for me to work on as usual and I’m glad to try and keep getting better. Thanks for listening. • Carve Out Some Time - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tues. 1-28-25 #1468
    Jan 28 2025

Another reminder post from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) where he shares this: “A message for today … Simplify your life! It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of life, but taking time for self-care really makes a difference. Carving out time for self-care helps recharge our mental & physical energy.” The post is all about this quote from Quotes Cafe - “Go offline, focus on yourself, treat yourself, exercise, go into nature, watch the birds in the sky, drink water, pray, laugh until you cry, cry until you laugh again, dress how you want, and set your boundaries. Be free.” So many outstanding reminders here for me to focus on, especially the going offline part a bit more. Yep, I need that. I think so many of us do. So many things we can do to better ourselves. Connecting to the previous episode, these are habits I need to do more of for sure as a part of my own system of living. How about you? • Goals vs. Systems - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 1-27-25 #1467
    Jan 27 2025

Found another great post from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi), where this was shared: “Goals are for people who care about winning once. Systems are for people who care about winning repeatedly.” - James Clear is the one who shared that gem of a thought. The system we all need to create (and we do it whether we know it or not), is with our habits. The things we do every day in our lives. The choices we make, make us! Having one goal here or there is not a bad thing. But to really change things in our lives, it’s the system we create for ourselves - that’s the key for sure!! I know I need to keep focusing on creating my best system for my life and you can do the same for your life. Thanks for listening. • Take These On Everyday - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1466
    Jan 27 2025

Found an important reminder for me and others on a few things to take on every day. I found this from Jon Beck (@CoachJonBeck) and he shares this: “4 diseases we must fight every day: Negativity, Mediocrity, Comfort and Entitlement. Stay positive, commit to excellence & never be outworked. Surround yourself w/ people who make you happy, laugh, recharge your energy & give you a sense of peace. Then you can take on those who don’t!” I’ve been finding that I need to “intentionally choose” to focus in on things like these and make sure I zero in on my choices a little bit better every day. It’s work of course, but what’s the alternative? To choose to be negative, mediocre, stay comfortable and to have an attitude of gimme, gimme, gimme?? The choice is simple, but maybe not easy to do every day. Again, things worthwhile are not supposed to be easy, but they are worth it. Thanks for listening. • Absence of Pressure - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 1-24-25 #1465
    Jan 24 2025

Found a great thought from one of the great basketball coaches. It’s shared by Coach Mac (@BballCoachMac) and the quote he’s sharing is: “With the absence of pressure, it's hard to do great things” - Geno Auriemma. Once again we see that basketball is a great mirror of life. Great things are not supposed to be hard. They are not supposed to be easy. So as we all go through our ups and downs in life - and that will always be the case as I was reminded about this week, going through some health issues, I needed this reminder for sure. I’m looking at these challenges as a refocusing point. Thanks for listening. • The Reality Is - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thur. 1-23-25 #1464
    Jan 23 2025

Found a simple, yet powerful truth for all of us to remember. This comes from Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity), where we are reminded that we all have problems and none of us are super easy to be with all the time. But, if we find someone that is committed to you and wants to grow with you, despite not being easy to be with, that is something to celebrate and invest in. Remember, do that for others too. For me, it’s my wife for sure - we put up with some things from each other (her more than me), but that is one of so many great things we have with the history we have together. I hope you have that too or that you are at least seeking that in your life too. Thanks for listening. • Your Culture - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 1-22-25 #1463
    Jan 22 2025

As I’m still taking on this bug I have, I saw this post that got me thinking a bit about how each of us has a “culture”. I found this from Hoop Herald (@TheHoopHerald) where this quote was shared: “Culture and doing things the right way should be the focus every day. Your daily habits are what you lean on when things get hard” - Jay Wright. As we all have things that get difficult throughout life, it really comes down to our own culture and what we have created in our everyday lives - that helps to either get us through the challenges or causes more challenges. My current challenge is getting better, and I’m still trying to make sure I do things the right way - even if they are a bit slower. If we set up those good habits, then it won’t matter what the day is all about, we’ll just keep doing the right thing. It’s a good way to get through easy days and hard ones too.
