  • Ep. 76: Champions and Playoff Debates
    Nov 13 2024

The whole gang is together for the Season 2 finale, as Steve, Jake, Dillon, and Braxton discuss the NASCAR Championship Weekend at Phoenix. They share their thoughts on the three champions, Ty Majeski, Justin Allgaier, and Joey Logano, including how all of them seem to excel at tracks like Phoenix. They also debate what changes could be made to the playoff format, after several drivers with great statistical seasons came up emptyhanded this season.

In Pop Up Showers, Jake looks back at our bold predictions and race win over and unders from the season premiere to see how close we were. Then Braxton leads a recap of the race picks, where Jake won the real picks championship and Braxton won the random picks crown. Plus we have a fun breakdown of which drivers got picked most frequently this season.

Finally, we share what we're looking forward to in the offseason, from more racing, to the ongoing charter litigation, to more silly season, and the broadcast partners revealing their announce teams.

Dillon, Jake, and Braxton are in to discuss all the wildness at Martinsville this weekend, including all the drama with Christopher Bell and William Byron, Ryan Blaney’s strong win, better NextGen tires, an unsettled Xfinity race, and a bull in a China shop in Friday’s Truck Series race. That’s not to mention Jake’s experience at Martinsville this weekend where he met The King and most certainly ate some hot dogs. The guys share their penultimate Pop Up Showers, plus a deep dive on our race picks, where both our real pick and random pick championships are still up for grabs this season!

  • Ep. 74: Homestead Shines Bright Once More
    Oct 30 2024

The whole gang is back together as Jake, Dillon, Steve, and Braxton discuss a wildly entertaining weekend of racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway, including Tyler Reddick’s daring 3rd-to-1st move on the final lap to punch his ticket to Phoenix.

They also discuss how Homestead should be the Championship Race once more, Grant Enfinger’s big Truck Series win, and Austin Hill’s Xfinity win. In Pop Up Showers, Jake mentions the return of Pennsboro Speedway in Ritchie County, West Virginia, Dillon shares that many local short tracks in Kentucky are extending their seasons due to the warm and dry fall, and Braxton shares news about a big night of racing at Ona Speedway, West Virginia’s only asphalt oval.

Plus race picks, random picks, and Braxton learns about the new slang for hot dog, “glizzy.”

  • Ep. 73: Jackpots hit in Vegas
    Oct 24 2024

Dillon, Jake, and Braxton are in this week to discuss a couple of rather surprising winners at Las Vegas, in AJ Allmendinger and Joey Logano. They also talk about the strong finish by Ryan Sieg and disappointing calamity for Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, and Tyler Reddick. Plus plenty of driver news including Ty Gibbs, William Sawalich, Taylor Gray, and Hallie Deegan. They also share their Pop Up Showers, which includes some fun polls Jake ran on Twitter, Dillon’s excitement for the Bud 8 to be coming back with Dale Jr., and Braxton sharing news of the big Saturday night of racing at North Wilkesboro for the CARS Tour and SMART Modified Tour. And a shoutout to our guy Travis Braden in the process. Then it’s on to race picks, Dillon’s Homestead forecast, and a brief discussion on Formula One officiating in Austin last week.

  • Ep. 72: Oh the Highs and Lows of Racing
    Oct 16 2024

Steve, Jake, and Braxton are in this week discussing NASCAR officiating yet again, after the Xfinity and Cup Series took on the Charlotte Roval. They talk about the extended time before calling a caution in the waning moments of the Xfinity Series race, costing Parker Kligerman a potential career-defining victory, and the hair-splitting call/non-call to penalize Bubba Wallace but not William Byron for track limits in Sunday's Cup race. Plus they wax poetic about Tyler Reddick's resolve in earning a place in the Round of 8, Alex Bowman's self-inflicted elimination from the playoffs, and look ahead to the closing stages of this 2024 season.

As always, they also discuss their Pop Up Showers, review their Roval picks, and make their picks for Las Vegas.

  • Ep. 71: Litigation and Confusion at Talladega
    Oct 9 2024

Jake, Dillon, and Braxton are in this week to discuss the monumental news from last week with 23XI and Front Row Motorsports filing a federal anti-trust lawsuit against NASCAR, plus the season’s final superspeedway race at Talladega. They break down a big win for Grant Enfinger in the Truck Series, Sammy Smith’s first career Xfinity Series win, and the messy finish to Sunday’s Cup Series race. The discussion then turns toward some of the officiating decisions made by NASCAR on Sunday with the Damaged Vehicle Policy. Plus the guys give their Pop Up Showers, real picks for the Charlotte ROVAL, random picks which might have been better than our real picks, and even a brief weather discussion as well.

  • Ep. 70: Kansas Calamities
    Oct 2 2024

Steve, Jake, and Braxton are in to discuss the fall Kansas playoff weekend, including wins by Corey Heim, Aric Almirola, and Ross Chastain, and unfortunate breaks for Ty Majeski, Ben Rhodes, Justin Allgaier, Josh Berry, Kyle Larson, and Tyler Reddick amongst others. They debate if anything should be changed to the damaged vehicle policy in light of Josh Berry's wreck, and what might have led to the many self-inflicted errors by Cup playoff teams on Sunday. Plus our random pick point standings are tightening up as we turn toward Talladega, and the guys wax poetic about the racing community rallying around to support those in need in Pop Up Showers.

  • Ep. 69: Bummed after Bristol?
    Sep 27 2024

In perhaps our nicest episode to date, Jake, Dillon, and Braxton are in this week to chat about all the playoff and cutoff action across all three series at Bristol, including Connor Zilisch coming back down to earth, yet another runner-up finish for Sheldon Creed, and a dominant performance from Kyle Larson. Pop Up Showers includes some interesting social media banter between Cliff Daniels and Chris Gabehart, the incoming hurricane hitting the south, and some cool wins in winged sprint cars last weekend. As always, the guys review their picks from last week, make their Kansas picks, and look forward to the first 1.5 mile track in quite some time.
