  • Guide to Climate Change
    Oct 24 2020

Climate change is described as a change in the temperature, precipitation and precipitation patterns of the Earth over a longer period of time. Climate change is caused by warmer, wetter or drier conditions, according to the US Geological Survey.

Climate change can bring about changes in variability, including extreme events, for example. As for heatwaves, media attention to climate change tends to focus on moderate temperature changes, but there is a wide range of possible causes of heatwaves and other extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, and wildfires.

Climate change is a global phenomenon caused primarily by the burning of fossil fuels that provide heat to the Earth's atmosphere and capture gases. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has found with 95% certainty that the current warming trend is the result of human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and human emissions of greenhouse gases.
