  • Summary

  • Christmas is the world's biggest festival, yet we barely understand how we got here. Somewhere between Jesus, Dickens and Coke, Christmas became the beloved chaotic present-fest that it currently is. If it's a turkey, we should really stop stuffing it. So let's unwrap it instead....

Join journalist Grace Dent, comedian Paul Kerensa and a house-full of special guests for a festive, fun and fact-filled sleigh-ride through the history of our Christmas traditions.

Please note: Father Christmas would like you to know that this series might not be suitable for children.

Clearly the wrong season in January.

Failed to get even half way through this book with too much trivia for my liking; especially listening after Christmas.

It’s just enjoyable

I’ve just started this again for about the fourth year - it’s the first thing I do now, just to start me off for Christmas ,,,, love it, but then I love Christmas.

Festive Fun

Enjoyable chat show style podcast. Special guest share anecdotes about their own Christmas and a Christmas historian explains the myths and origins of Christmas traditions.

Good attempt at a Christmas podcast

Good Christmas traditions podcast, with a decent attempt to mix some Christmas facts and some fun and festive feelings. Paul Karensa capably holds it all together, while Grace Dent does the supporting role. The appearance of random comedians is a bit strange.
Worth a listen. Lots to chuckle over and lots to learn. Merry Christmas.

Got me into the Christmas spirit.......

Really enjoyable ‘Podcast’ format - with crystal clear recording! I had wondered how Paul Kerensa could transfer his amazing Christmas book into an entertainment format, and this answers it! Listened back-to- back in two sittings whilst travelling in car - finally got me into the Christmas spirit (and likely to be one of the highlights of my 2019 Christmas!)
