• CDL70: Wise Words From A Medicine Woman with Shay Zangeneh
    Dec 21 2022

Our guest for this episode is Shay Zangeneh, from Sacramento. Medicine Woman, Coach, Author, and a Teacher.

In this episode, Shay and Shane talks about the world of Kambo and what the Kambo Ceremony involves. The story on how she was introduced to Kambo, the profound results she got from it and how she now trains practitioners around the globe to be able to reach more people in need of this culturally sacred ritual.

Shay also spent the first portion of my life, like many others, thoroughly confused about her purpose, my value and my worthiness. It took many years of deep self-reflection, internal traveling, sitting in darkness and endless teachers and workshops to realize the truth of who we all are: The consciousness behind the thoughts and behaviors.

Listen to this episode and find out about what helped her from being a victim to now helping hundreds of people find their worth, while breaking free of any mental and physical barriers that hinder them and her journey of learning different modalities to better help herself and others.

  • CDL69: Changing the Canna-Health Game with Alexis Angulo
    Feb 2 2022

Our guest for this episode is Alexis Angulo, from Sacramento. Alexis is verified social equity, a Cannabis advocate, and founder of Pretty & Posh, a cannabis brand.

Before Alexis’ first birthday, her dad was incarcerated for selling cannabis. Since then she grew up with the stigma that Cannabis was like an evil drug that separated her dad from their family. It was not until she was 19 when she joined a sorority that changed her perspective. She was introduced to cannabis and as soon as she took her first inhalation, so much stress was lifted off of her, stress and anxiety that she never really realized she has. She then started smoking Cannabis recreationally on a monthly basis and this has helped change her perspective towards cannabis as this has helped her so much both mentally and physically.

This also brought a different kind of sisterhood among them, a sisterhood that she wanted to be conveyed in the cannabis industry. So, even when it became legalized, the cannabis industry stayed to be male-dominated. There are not many cannabis brands that cater to women. This has been her focus, to grow her business with women and sisterhood in mind.

  • CDL67: Nothing Beats a Mother’s Intuition with Sara German
    Nov 10 2021

Our guest for this episode is Sara German from Canada. Sara is a Podcast Host and Author. Sara is also also a mom to a son with PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections).

After struggling to find a treatment and a diagnosis for her son and dealing with the disorder for five years, Sara wrote a middle-grade novel called Pendulum by S.E. German, that outlines the challenges of this disorder and middle-grade life.

11 years ago his son started to have various neuropsychiatric kinds of mental health issues. He was exuding some aggression, anxiety, and OCD tendencies, but the most noticeable was his motor ticks and the difference in his personality, and the way he interacts.

She started with the traditional western medical route but even that wasn’t helpful. After not seeing much results and help, she tried to use her background in public policy and research. She started doing her own research and contacting numerous other doctors that may be interested in this type of issue. That is where she stumbled upon a parent’s group that was talking about PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections). Eventually, she was able to find a pediatrician who was willing to take steps needed for her son’s condition and has used natural methods as well.

She wrote the book Pendulum to help the mental health community, kids and young adults who are struggling with PANDAS and other similar issues, and to highlight the many roadblocks that they are facing in the medical system.

In this episode, Shane and Sara talk about her search for answers for his child’s condition, Sara’s battle with her own autoimmune disease, and how being vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free helps their conditions.

  • CDL66: Life Coaching: A Necessity, Not Luxury with Tracy Manser
    Nov 3 2021

Our guest for this episode is Tracy Manser. Tracey is a certified Life Coach, NLP, and CBT practitioner. Tracy is also an Emmy and BAFTA-nominated British TV Production Executive.

For over 15 years Tracy suffered from life-draining panic attacks caused by a horrific sexual assault; Tracy was raped by two men repeatedly a week before her 24th birthday. In this interview, Shane and Tracy bravely talk of the impact of sexual assault, the long-term damage if left unaddressed, and how to not be tied to your tragic past and move forward with life confidently.

Her healing journey started a week before her 40th birthday after a friend suggested doing something special to celebrate. It was the start of an incredible, year-long journey. She did all the amazing things that she told herself she would do one day. Learned to chop like a chef, spent a day at the Louvre in Paris, rode rollercoasters, and even learned to do flying trapeze. All for the sake of healing and most of all to get that grip of anxiety out of her life.

Now Tracey is helping other people with their journey as a Confidence Coach, equipped with her life-long experience and victory over depression and anxiety.

  • CDL65: Be the CEO of Your Health with Aida Cirino-Lee
    Oct 27 2021

Our guest for this week is Aida Cirino-Lee from Orland, Florida. Aida is a Holistic Health Practitioner and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.

As a child, Aida was always sick and experienced all different health issues, from asthma, eczema, heart murmur, and was even diagnosed with hypertension as a child.

She fell in love with the healthcare profession after experiencing firsthand the love and care of the healthcare professionals that took care of her during those treatments. All her health issues cleared up except her high blood pressure.

At the age of 31, she suffered a major stroke that made the left side of her body paralyzed. She has been on different medications, was in and out of the hospital, and ended up taking 19 pills a day, but her blood pressure was never controlled. This was also her problem when she became pregnant at 36. She was in the hospital most of her pregnancy and her baby had to be taken out early, on the 31st week. After giving birth she then experienced four Transient Ischemic Attacks.

Thankful for another life God gave her and determined to not let it go to waste, she changed her life not only for herself but most importantly to share it with her family and have the energy to enjoy her son and her grandkids. With that, she did her own research on natural medicine and functional medicine and started putting them into practice. After seeing changes in herself, she decided to go to school to learn more about it and to create a protocol that she practiced herself. In just 3 months she lost 45 pounds, from 19 pills down to 3, and hasn’t been in a hospital in 10 years!

Aida is now helping others get the skills and empowerment to control, prevent, and even reverse chronic diseases, navigate our sick-care system, break the bondages to medication and their side effects, release some weight and regain their passion

In this episode, Shane and Aida talk more about her health journey, misconceptions about diets today, relationships, and how we can truly become the CEO of our health.

  • CDL63: Be Stronger Than Your Excuses with Win Charles
    Oct 13 2021

We have many dreams in life. Dreams of a better future, a happy family, running a marathon, losing that extra 10 pounds, and eating healthy. But sometimes, our dreams are just being overshadowed by the sheer number of excuses. We can have as many dreams as we want, but all it will take is just one excuse and all that dreams will never be a reality. It can be our lack of time, our job, and sometimes even our own health, but all of these should not stop us.

Take our guest for this week as an example. Win Charles was born with cerebral palsy, she lost her mom in 2010 and her dad in 2019, but these have not stopped her from reaching her dreams and touching other people’s lives. Win Charles has defied the odds by becoming an author. Her memoir “I, Win” tells her amazing story of how she remembers her life through the years of having cerebral palsy, as a competitor in the Kona IronMan Triathlon, and a motivational speaker, and even hosts her own Podcast: A Winning Cup.

Win Charles also tours the country, speaking to schools and institutions to raise awareness about cerebral palsy and living a full life no matter what holds you back. She is also an advocate of veterans across the world.

In this episode, Shane chats with Win about her holistic journey, her love for essential oils, and how zucchini brownie has helped her stay away, at times, from Peanut Butter Cups.
