  • I Saw Things I Imagined
    Oct 9 2020
This week’s episode titled “I Saw Things I Imagined”, is a solo episode and we talk about pornography, feminism, agency , fantasy, and MUCH MORE!
We are looking at Mireille Miller-Young’s work A Taste for Brown Sugar where she positions erotic sovereignty as that which reterritorializes the always already exploitable Black woman’s body. We find in this text that sex serves as a site for thinking different, a site for thinking possibility in the space of oppression. When thinking sex and the Black woman, gender and race intersects with history in a highly specific way that provides Miller-Young a site for challenging how we come to know, come to embody, and come to live through oppression and liberation. Sex is a tool used in Black feminism for looking at politics, policy, class, resistance, refusal, pleasure, respectability, racism, and many other popular theories in Black feminisms. What are the limits of our fantasies? How can we expand them to achieve pleasure? Listen to my thoughts and responses to these and other questions on this weeks episode of Bwitch, Please! The Podcast.

  • Can I Cum?
    Oct 2 2020
We're Back!! This week’s episode titled “Can I Cum?”, is a solo episode and we talk about orgasm, empowerment, silence , community, and MUCH MORE!
This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color edited by Gloria Anzaldúa and Cherríe Moraga explores the concept of knowing by challenging its readers to interrogate who gets to be known and by whom, who has to learn whom and what they come to know. This knowing differs along the lines of gender and the conversation this week provokes knowing by looking at orgasms. Is there value in translating desire for your partner? How vocal are you about what you like and don’t like during intimacy? How have we been socialized to be silent? We respond to these questions and so many more on this weeks episode of Bwitch, Please! The Podcast. Come hang with us!
