  • EP. 19 | Are you after the POWER or the PROMISE?
    Jun 4 2024

The PROBLEM is when the PERCEPTION of POWER costs us the PROMISE.

This episode of "But God: The Podcast” hosted by Teri D., she delves into themes of power, perception, and promise through a biblical lens. The episode begins by referencing a previous discussion on John chapter four, featuring the Samaritan woman at the well.

Check it out here - https://youtu.be/aFP7VLEy5BI?si=-AeyL9WjYEYvLQox This time, the focus shifts to Exodus and the story of Moses. Teri discusses the power of God as demonstrated in Moses' life, beginning with the burning bush encounter where Moses doubted his own abilities. Through various signs, such as turning a staff into a serpent and healing leprous skin, God reassured Moses of His power and Moses' role. These signs were intended to show that God's power can transform perceived evil and heal sickness. The narrative progresses to recounting how Moses, using the staff, brought water from a rock as instructed by God, showcasing obedience to God's power. However, when Moses later disobeyed God by striking the rock instead of speaking to it, he lost the promise of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land. This highlights that acting outside of God's specific commands, even with good intentions, can lead to severe consequences. Teri draws parallels between Moses' experiences and contemporary Christian life, emphasizing the danger of exalting one's own abilities or the power of God over God Himself. This is seen as a form of idolatry that can lead to spiritual downfall. The episode concludes with a reflection on the Amalekites, who attacked the weary Israelites and were characterized as those who did not fear God. Teri links this to modern culture, urging listeners to remain vigilant and obedient to God, emphasizing that victory comes through surrender to His will.

  • Ep. 18 | GIFTS WITHOUT GOD: AN IDOL IN WAITING
    May 21 2024

In this episode, Teri explores the significance of Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well, emphasizing God's intentionality in divine meetings. Teri highlights that Jesus, though not initially revealing His divine identity, offers the woman living water, symbolizing a deeper spiritual fulfillment. The discussion critiques the modern tendency to view faith as a means for personal gain rather than a genuine relationship with God. Teri warns against the deception of prioritizing spiritual gifts over God Himself and stresses the importance of discerning true faith. The episode concludes with a call to focus on God’s word and seek a true understanding of His nature.
