  • Movie Premiere in London w/ Director George Baron | Ep. 17 | Buried Dreams hosted by Elle Morris
    Nov 14 2023

I was invited to a movie premiere in London for George Baron's latest film, the Blue Rose...

    The Blue Rose (2023)
    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15262900/

2023 Bio: "George Baron is a young queer writer, actor and director. George made his writing and directorial debut at 8 years old in a full length production of an original musical at The Whitefire Theatre. In 2019 George conceived and directed a well-received, teen-helmed production of Spring Awakening at the Stella Adler Theatre. George also worked in Hollywood as a child actor, starring in the feature Adult Interference, and in a supporting role in Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp. The Blue Rose marks George’s feature directorial debut. It was inspired by an Immersive Theater Art Show he directed in February of 2020, featuring many of the same characters in the film — all inspired by the artwork of his friend and longtime collaborator, Sophia Victoria Frizzell. The Blue Rose is a “pastel-noir” film inspired by the golden age of Hollywood and the mysteries that lie underneath. Although not a straight period piece, he set it in the quasi-50s — a time that was ripe with repressed fears and desires — to enhance themes of gender fluidity and facing fears in a universe that doesn’t allow them to be expressed, which are themes George hopes to explore in his future directorial work. • I'm F*cking Killing It!!! w/ Sway Kun | Ep. 16 | Buried Dreams hosted by Elle Morris
    Oct 18 2023

Sway Kun, born in Boston in 1990, but raised outside of America since the age of 3-6, has a collection of cherished memories from his early years in Malaysia. From ages 6 to 19, he resided in his homeland, Jerusalem, Palestine, before eventually relocating to the United States. In Palestine, he experienced being seen as the "American," whereas in America, he identifies as Palestinian, always feeling like an outsider throughout his life.

The journey of self-discovery for Sway Kun has been life-long, with the quest to find self-love and the true meaning of home as central themes. Under the restrictive structure of his father, he was never allowed to explore any forms of art during his formative years. However, in his 20s, when he moved out and gained freedom, he began to embrace various art forms, and it has become an integral part of who he is today.

His path has been grueling yet equally fascinating, filled with experiments and learning, which he hopes to share with the world to inspire others on their own creative journeys.
