    Bio:

    Meena Ayittey is an award winning film director. From and based in London, her fascination with stories and human nature started from an early age. Through writing stories and making films she has developed a passion for providing a voice to marginalised communities and the voices those who often go unheard. It is this passion that has been a driving force in her work with subjects ranging from domestic abuse, mental health and race.

    Her Recent Docu series collaboration Panasonic focuses on dispelling the myths and stereotypes that many African women face. with Her 2020 Black Lives Matter film ‘Mama’ made in response to the murder of George Floyd, earned her several accolades including a nods at Ciclope and awards at AICP, The Webbys, OnePointFour to name a few.

    Who is Cerrita Smith?

    Cerrita is a Music Therapist, Musician, Tutor and Organisational Consultant. 

    She has worked as a music therapist in inpatient mental health hospitals within the NHS for 10 years. She also works in private practice with children, who have experienced developmental trauma (primarily with adopted children) and their families. She has presented her work nationally and internationally and her work has been published in a number of journals. In 2017 and 2018 Cerrita worked in Rwanda, in East Africa, with Music as Therapy International, where she up a music project to support teachers to use music to support educational goals and to develop strategies to support children with additional educational needs.

    Who is John R Wilkinson? 

    John is the tenth recipient of the Genesis Future Directors Award at the Young Vic. He trained on the National Theatre Directors’ Course and is currently undertaking research into new work and touring companies with English Touring Theatre, Wise Children, Stockroom and the Royal Court, as part of Arts Council England’s Developing Your Creative Practice.
