  • 07 Shirley Blenkinsop: How can startup founders overcome self-doubt and Impostor Syndrome.
    Feb 11 2024

Dr. Shirley Blenckinsop is a coach for startup founders, high-achieving professionals and leaders - also my very own business coach.

For a very long time I I dismissed the impostor syndrome as an overhyped concept. However I later came to realise that I've actually been a victim of it for many years. It never crossed my mind to attribute some of my people pleasing tendencies to it. It was not after many coaching sessions that I came to realise the "cause" that was really underneath it all, and that the Impostor Syndrome is more than just a hot topic from a few years ago.

In this very personal episode Shirley and I explore the four pillars of the Impostor Syndrome - perfectionism, analysis paralysis, people-pleasing, and procrastination - unpacking how these elements intertwine to breed feelings of inadequacy and fear. Our conversation navigates the delicate balance between authenticity and societal expectations, highlighting the challenges and rewards of staying true to oneself. Shirley and I share insights and strategies for tackling these issues head-on, emphasising the power of self-love, the significance of setting boundaries, and the courage to embrace our shadows.

This episode is a heartfelt exploration of personal development, the importance of self-acceptance, perseverance, and the ongoing journey towards growth. It's crafted for anyone eager to step out of the shadows of doubt and into the light of their true potential.
