Now, let's dive into the heart of our homestead: Garden Renovation: We're revamping our garden with beautiful vego garden beds, aiming to make our garden even more productive and stunning. Back Pasture: The waterline project is complete! We're thrilled to announce this major milestone. Up next is building the H braces, budgeting for Timeless T posts (as recommended by Greg Judy), and securing the wire for the pasture fence. These white Timeless T posts not only look great but are also incredibly practical. Permaculture: We've got Kelly taking the lead on some exciting permaculture initiatives, including pocket ponds, the introduction of fodder trees, meat chickens, drought-proofing strategies for our land, and the art of creating biochar by burning brush. Our chickens are even joining the compost and biochar production team! More Rain Tanks: In our quest to optimize water management, we're adding more rain tanks to harness this precious resource. Front Fence Rebuild: Our mischievous dogs have been escaping, so it's time to rebuild our front fence to keep them safe and sound. Pond: We'll discuss trimming trees, weed-eating the dam, and upgrading the aerator to keep our pond healthy and thriving. Fall Rye Grass and Cool Cover Crops: We're preparing for the planting season, including fall rye grass and other cool cover crops to enrich our soil. Tractor Update: Our farm workhorse needs some TLC, and we're exploring the idea of adding a mower and grapple attachment. However, the budget is still under consideration.
