  • In this episode of the Get Over It Podcast, Mickey Bell speaks to Pat Boone, a prolific singer, actor, author, and television personality. Originally studying to be a preacher-teacher, Boone got his start as a musician appearing on (and often winning) talent shows. He began to form connections with people in the music industry and found himself recording hit record after hit record. Early in his career, Elvis opened for Boone before he became well-known. Boone is also an accomplished actor. Key to his career in Hollywood were his Christian values and understanding that he was a role model to many. This led him to turn down a movie which he believed did not align with his values despite being told that it could end his career. The movie ended up flopping. Boone prides himself on sticking to his values and encourages other in similar positions to do the same.
