Really easy to follow....
I am no expert in the classics, but thought I would give this a go. With some background knowledge of greek mythology (care of S.Fry Heros) it was really easy to follow and fun to listen to.

Fantastic and free
A brilliant rendition of arguably the most influential and well known of the surviving tragedies. All parts superbly acted and delivered. Couldn't ask for more especially as it's free! (if you pay the monthly audible subscription of course.)

Redemption
The story reveals even the worsest of sin can be forgiven. Sophocles narrated beautifully. Jamie Glover and all the cast has done a wonderful job.

An incredible production for an unbelievable price
Beautifully constructed, wonderfully acted and all for free. It is perhaps one of the greater modern shames that Freud's derivative work is misinterpreted for only the first of the plays when such honourable acts awaited Oedipus and his daughter Antigone.
A true Tragedy, the Oedipus Plays plumb the depths of mortal despair to identify the nobility and villainy of its characters.
Recommended for lovers of the great classics.

Good versions of some of the best plays in history
Translating Greek epic and drama is notoriously difficult as something will always be lost in translation, and at the same time there is a lot of freedom for a translator to create a new poetic version that, though different to the original, can create some of the same impression.
There are therefore many translations of these plays, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Some are poetic to the potential detriment of clarity, and others are too simplified. Ironically, in trying to get as close to a literal translation of the original as possible, reducing the layers of meaning that one can gain from a more poetic rendering. I think these versions find a nice middle ground. Lyrical, but not inaccessible.
The voice acting of the Audible Theatre Collection is also fine, finding a nice middle ground. Neither too lofty or melodramatic, nor too common.
I have yet to find any better versions of these plays. They are lyrical and emotive and also make accessible these absolute pinnacles of theatrical art.
Before choosing these, I also listened to the sample of the BBC set of Sophocles' plays. While the cast was stellar, and I don't doubt the production and direction is equally good, the small sample from the beginning of Oedipus the King indicates the translation had lost important nuances that can be found in this one. I might yet give it a go as the different plays have different translators, but certainly for the Theban plays, I'd pick this one.

Passed the test of time
I was utterly gripped by this excellent translation which brought this ancient material to vivid life. I only tried this because it was free and I'm so glad I did. I was vaguely familiar with the plots but I became involved and moved despite the ancient format, including the use of the chorus. I advise anyone looking at these titles with trepidation to go for it!

Amazing, terrific production.
Really enjoyed this trio, great acting, really clear translation, with enough poetry but never losing its grip on the meaning. Full of vim.

Stunning adaptation!
This is by far the best version on audible.
Full text dramatisation.
Great translation from the original Greek.
Cast is impeccable, really great performances, just showing what audio versions and Greek tragedy can do the plain text without any needless gimmicks or reimaginings.
