With the taping of this introductory episode, I have officially kicked off a project I have been working on for many months.

My name is Sam Roon. I am about to embark on a journey into the cosmos. The path I forge, the knowledge I gain, and the value it brings to me personally, are all things I plan to document and share. I will take a candid, open and honest approach to how I fail, learn, research, and hopefully one day, succeed.

This podcast is about everything I do and learn as a beginner in the realm of astrophotography. From the nuances of understanding each piece of gear, how it’s used, and why it’s important, to the incredible wealth of information there is to learn about the cosmos. I hope to learn as much as possible and share that knowledge with you.

And of course, there’s a story told in real-time, about how all the information I learn intersects with this human being’s hope of being able to capture the wonders of the sky in an image.
